Duties & Responsibilities:

The North American Account Executive will sell directly to a targeted market along with managing a successful sales channel by optimizing the sale of Lab and Production products in the region, providing leadership in a complex changing market, and maintaining customer relationships. The Account Executive is expected to use a network of influential relationships across the region to develop the opportunities for Viavi’s business, leveraging their business acumen to significantly increase the penetration of Ethernet / OTN Protocol and Optical Parametric Test and Measurement Tools into the Government, Aerospace, and Defense Ecosystem. (GAD)

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Learn the company technology, product portfolio, internal systems, sales methodology and specific accounts or territories.

  • Own and Manage accounts in assigned territory and carry an annual sales quota.

  • Develop new accounts and expand existing accounts.

  • Work with Sr Director NA Sales to develop sales plans, implement plans independently. Position, demonstrate and differentiate Lab and Production products.

  • Introduce new products.

  • Resolve a variety of issues working with external & internal resources.

  • Engage in customer relationship development.

  • Take ownership of execution of the Viavi sales process. Demonstrate ability to think bigger than just one particular product or geography, and creatively to resolve a variety of issues in light of the overall strategic approach to the customer.

  • Position and differentiate total business segment portfolio. Increasingly work at higher levels of the customer’s organization, typically calling on local and/or regional staff.

  • Assume responsibility for interfaces between client and VIAVI business units.

Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:

Qualifications:


  • Familiarity and proven track record of selling Ethernet Protocol and Optical Parametric tools

  • Familiarity of GAD Accounts and Ecosystem

  • Product Knowledge / Product Range: Parametric Test (IL, PDL, SWS, Optical Switching), Optical Time Domain Reflectometry (OTDR), Optical Spectrum Analysis (OSA) Ethernet, OTN

  • 8-10 years sales experience in high technology field, direct account sales.

  • Prefer BS Engineering.

  • This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by export laws of the US.  In order to be eligible, you must be either a US Citizen or Permanent Resident
