Activity Assistant/Van Driver

Part time Weekdays T-W-TH with occasional evening hours (1x a month)

Activity Assistant Job Summary

To assist the Resident Engagement Director in implementing social programs created specifically for the independent and assisted living population. Duties include: guiding activities, arts and crafts, local travel, outings, and assisting with speakers and musical events. You will be the primary driver for our medical appointments during specified days of the week. This position will require driving a 12-person minibus to various activity locations.

Responsibilities:

• Safely transport residents to and from appointments, outings, and community events.


• Ensure the comfort and well-being of passengers during transit.


• Assist residents with boarding and exiting the van safely.


• Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the van, conducting routine inspections.


• Assist in community programs and activities as needed.


• Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and community members.


• Report any issues or incidents promptly.


• Uphold a friendly and helpful demeanor to create a positive experience for residents.

Qualifications:

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.


• Ability to operate a passenger van safely and responsibly.


• Good communication skills and the ability to interact positively with seniors.


• Respectful and patient attitude towards residents.


• Physical ability to assist residents with boarding and exiting the van.
