Production Planning Supervisor

The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Production Planning Supervisor, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Leading the production planning process including capacity planning, procurement and inventory management, and detailed scheduling.


• Leading a team of planners – provide oversight, guidance, and leadership in operational excellence.  Set direction, priorities, and provide development opportunities.


• Accountable for performance of key metrics including on time in full delivery, inventory, inventory turns, non-working inventory, supply plan attainment, production plan attainment, machine capacity analysis, and end-to-end supply chain metrics.


• Provide collaborative support to the various divisions the plant supports.


• Improve the planning process to be more effective and efficient.

Your Skills and Expertise 
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.


• Five (5) combined years’ experience in supply chain and/or manufacturing in a private, public, government, or military environment.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Planning system experience


• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Business/Accounting or Computer Science from an accredited institution


• APICS Certification


• Previous supervision, team or project leadership


• Experience with SAP and/or EWM


• Strong planning technical knowledge, analytical, and people skills


• Ability to work well with cross-functional peer team and partnering divisions


• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certified

Work location:

• Aberdeen, SD

Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/international

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $119,076 - $145,537, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
