We are seeking a full-time Segment Quality Lead in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for understanding and implementing basic quality tools and methods. You will also be contributing to provide program management as it relates to Voice of the Customer metrics. You will partner with our engineering and other corss-functional departments throughout the business to resolve customer facing issues, represent the customer experience, and improve our product performance.
Essential Functions
Drive resolution of customer issues across functional areas and work with product teams, suppliers and /or manufacturing to move issues to completion
Represent customer experience and product performance for released products to our business
Support product development, testing, user experience and return processes for continuous improvement with appropriate sense of urgency
Investigate Warranty returns by participating on cross functional teams of Engineering, Materials, Manufacturing, Customer Repair, and Process Engineering staff to identify and implement process/design improvements in order to continuously improve product quality
Understand and apply quality tools to aid in data management/issue resolution
Document/communicate lessons learned across functional teams
Participate in development of process FMEA, Control Plans, capability assessments, and measurement systems analysis
Support root cause analysis of recurring quality failures and implementation of process and design improvements
Lead reviews with business leadership for product quality objectives and support implementation and verification techniques
Develop good relationships between the various team(s), other Garmin teams/departments and external entities (ex. customers, suppliers, etc.) including Garmin teams around the world
Act as single point of contact for Voice of the Customer related communications within the organization
Know and understand organizational needs and quality objectives to support alignment throughout project lifecycles
Know and understand Product Quality procedures, processes and metrics
Apply Garmin's Mission, Vision, Values and Quality Policy and enthusiastically exhibit a desire to see Garmin succeed
Understand and apply Garmin's Mission Statement as well as Quality Policy
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related Engineering technical field
Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule) with the demonstrated ability to apply learned knowledge
Demonstrated ability to complete project management tasks
Must possess the ability to operate effectively within a team environment and work across functional and organizational boundaries
Demonstrated ability to implement quality improvement tools in a team environment
Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Driven problem solver with proven success in solving problems
Must demonstrate flexibility and a commitment to meeting deadlines and demonstrate the ability to deal with confidential company matters
Demonstrated proficient computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
Experience with business intelligence and reporting tools
Must be positive, detail oriented, organized, analytical, team oriented, and a multi-tasker with the ability to prioritize, work effectively, and manage time in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment with excellent follow-up skills and minimal supervision
Desired Qualifications
Previous work or internship experience in a quality engineering role
Experience with business intelligence and reporting tools
