Description: Our client is currently seeking a Sourcing Manager II
MUST be open to working Alaska hours (candidates from MST/PST only)
*Telecom experience is preferred*
The Sourcing Manager II is responsible for leading strategic sourcing projects, managing procurement events, and driving cost savings through competitive bidding and renegotiations. This role directly influences the company's cost structure, negotiated rates for products and services, margin improvement, and cost avoidance. Activities encompass various expense and capital spending areas, including identifying cost synergies and collaborating with stakeholders and VP sponsors.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct project kick-off meetings and stakeholder interviews, documenting notes.
Prepare data requests for suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Analyze supplier and internal spend data, as well as invoice data.
Research alternate suppliers for leverage and competitive bid opportunities.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to document future demand/quantity requirements.
Develop and present baseline spend to VP sponsors, project team members, and procurement leaders.
Create RFQs, RFPs, and RFIs as needed; issue and analyze them.
Facilitate supplier selection criteria creation with the project team.
Work with procurement leaders, VP sponsors, and project team members to build negotiation strategies.
Conduct reference checks for new suppliers and collect incumbent supplier performance feedback.
Create deal summaries, conduct peer reviews, and facilitate contract finalization.
Maintain a SharePoint site with status updates, category/project documentation, and work product.
Foster a culture of learning, teamwork, and growth among procurement members.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of telecom supply market, procurement methods, and effective stakeholder management. Proficient in Oracle, Procure to Pay tools, MS tool suite, and ability to learn proprietary systems.
Building Relationships: Highly effective at building relationships with executives, peers, and subordinates; strong influencing skills and credibility.
Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills to extract maximum value from cross-functional teams.
Commercial Acumen: Effective negotiation skills internally and externally for maximum value.
Customer Orientation: Ensures effective addressing of customer needs.
Projects and Teamwork: Builds effective relationships and creates an environment for learning and growth.
Strategic Vision: Able to identify and exploit opportunities for spend optimization and savings.
Minimum of five (5) years' experience in telecom, procurement, and leading project teams.
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Business, Purchasing, Supply Chain, or relevant field required.
ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
This mid-level position requires the ability to work independently, performing moderately complex duties under deadlines. Must have a comprehensive understanding of company operations and demonstrate competency in Supply Chain Department skills.
