Job Title: Lead Salesforce Developer

Position Overview:

Insulet, makers of the OmniPod pump for Type 1 Diabetes, is one of the fastest medical device companies in the industry and we are expanding our SFDC Development team! Insulet has been a SFDC customer for many years, and as a result, leverages many of the features provided by SFDC. This role is a great opportunity to lead project delivery across a broad range of elements such as Service cloud, Health cloud, Marketing cloud, IoT cloud, communities, Einstein analytics, etc. Working in a dynamic, collaborative team environment, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting Insulet's Commercial functions through the implementation of new SFDC solutions, maintenance of existing functions and contributing to our enterprise integration program. The Lead SFDC Developer will focus on projects and processes related to call center support, marketing automation, data management, mobile applications, and sales/field rep modules. We are looking for a leader who would be empowered to drive initiatives from a concept to a delivered product with minimal supervision, providing guidance and direction to others on the team. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to lead a development staff including on-shore and off-shore resources, deep technical knowledge of Salesforce.com and has been involved in enforcing organized development standards.

Responsibilities:


  • Develop and maintain custom solutions on force.com platform using Apex and Visualforce by establishing best practices of application development and data integrity.

  • Develop and support new apps using Aura and LWC framework for internal and external users

  • Work with project managers, analyst and other developers to create project roadmaps, technical specifications and ensure effective collaboration through all phases of the project lifecycle

  • Develop and maintain coding, testing standards and best practices documents

  • Enforce best practices through code reviews and technical architecture reviews

  • Identify and develop plans for process improvements on various aspects of development lifecycle and Salesforce platform management

  • Conduct on-going review of Salesforce instance to ensure operational stability and compatibility with evolving business needs

  • Manage daily support and maintenance of Salesforce instance for business continuity

  • Assess the impact of proposed changes and recommend alternative solution choices, determining trade-offs and impact analysis

  • Support Insulet's enterprise integration program. Work with integration leads on processes moving data between Salesforce and other third-party solutions such as marketing automation or ERP.

  • Communicate effectively with business users on the status of enhancements, projects, and open production support tickets.

  • Mentor junior developers

  • Occasional off-hour support of production applications/processes should issues arise outside of business hours

Education and Experience:


  • 7+ years as a Senior Salesforce developer working on Sales, Service and Community clouds

  • Strong knowledge of custom Salesforce development including Apex, Visualforce, basic administration, flows, reporting, and general design concepts.

  • Expert in Aura framework and Lighting Web Components

  • Experience managing large patient/customer portal on Salesforce a strong plus

  • Strong knowledge of OOAD, Design Patterns and general architectural best practices

  • Proven ability to lead teams of developers, provide best practice coding standards and manage a complex CRM environment.

  • Good understanding of OAUTH2 and other security/encryption best practices

  • Proficient understanding of relational database concepts

  • Experience working on web technologies like HTML, JavaScript, and CSS

  • Experience building webservices using SOAP, REST, XML, JSON

  • Proficient in DevOps best practices, CI/CD and deployment for an IT organization of enterprise scale, either with Salesforce specific tools like Copado or Git, Bamboo etc.

  • Knowledge or experience working with middleware platforms such as Mulesoft

  • Platform Developer I and Platform Developer II certification preferred. System and Application Architect certifications are a plus

  • General knowledge of the software development life cycle process Agile, SAFE etc.

  • MS in an IT-related discipline such as Computer Science

  • Preferred experience supporting or working with a Commercial organization in the pharmaceutical, medical device, or any other regulatory controlled industry

Physical Requirements:


  • General office environment, may sit for long periods of time.

  • Domestic travel may be required less than 5% of the time.

Additional Information:
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $93,700.00 - $140,800.00. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in the primary work location in the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
