What Will Your Job Look Like?
The Lead Dispatcher works to direct the day-to-day route, scheduling and trip operations. This role will ensure effective communication with the Client and will assist with organizing and conducting activities to assure safe, cost-effective, on-time operating performance. The Lead Dispatcher will also finalize the next day routes and Operators schedules, track and report sign-in and sign-out times, assure routes are timely, and communicate service issues to the appropriate personnel. This work is done in compliance with the procedures defined by the client and in conformance with company procedures, which involves daily communication and interaction with Drivers and Operators.
What You’ll Do:
Communicate with the General Manager on any scheduling issues
Assist with confirming and finalizing the next day’s route/driver schedules
Coordinate accidents, incidents, and breakdowns with leadership and driver
Inform team ahead of time of route closures and late pull-out
Provide guidance and training to Dispatch team
Supervise pull-out and ensure all routes leave the base on-time
Ensure pre-and post-trip inspections are completed
Communicate with team on any issue that may affect service such as operator callouts, etc.
Assist lost drivers as needed
Check-in drivers after routes have been completed
Ensure drivers are documenting trip information and mileage on trip-sheets
Ensure there are sufficient vehicles to match scheduled routes, as well as sufficient drivers for all routes at pull-out
Make driver and vehicle reassignments as needed
Communicate with maintenance staff, as needed
Establish and maintain effective communication with Drivers
Report and record all incidents to the applicable manager
Assist with all phone call information, dispatching of rides, and scheduling trips
Document and report provider no shows or on-time-performance issues
Assist in completion of monthly reporting as needed
Monitor radio, telephones and on-road provision of service for quality
What You’ll need:
High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
1+ years in transportation routing, dispatching, and scheduling expertise
1 year experience working with the applicable transit scheduling system preferred
Possess valid authorization to work in the United States

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Good organizational skills with attention to timeliness and details
Knowledge of GPS and GIS systems preferred
Must be able to demonstrate effective use of scheduling software, two-way radio communication and data analysis skills
Skills in the use of computers, including Microsoft Word, Excel and other Microsoft applications
Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality
Regular attendance is required

Hourly Rate: $23 - $25
