In Fugro's Marine Geoconsulting service line our geoscientists and engineers have expertise in guiding data collection programs; exploring ocean basins; interpreting seafloor geo-morphology, being involved in environmental, carbon sequestration, and geochemical exploration studies; identifying and analyzing geohazards; and advising on foundation siting and design and routing pipelines and cables.


The Warehouse Manager - Marine will supervise the receipt, storage, dispatch, and disposal of samples and occasionally equipment into and from the Houston Geotechnical Laboratory facilities. Transport the samples between the warehouse and testing areas and ensure the warehouse is well-organized and clean.



Job Responsibilities



  • Lead by example and place Quality, Health & Safety, Security, and the protection of the Environment as core values while never intentionally placing employees, our processes, customers, or the communities in which we live and work at risk.

  • Work with the Laboratory Manager on forthcoming deliveries, workload, and priorities.

  • Receive samples and other goods from couriers transporting them from the site.

  • Check that the delivered samples and goods match any accompanying paperwork.

  • Transfer samples and goods to/from storage locations in the warehouse and keep a record of what is stored where in the laboratory database.

  • Check-out and in samples for the testing areas and update the database accordingly about the sample locations.

  • Frequently check on the manual handling equipment in use in the warehouse (e.g. forklift, truck, etc) and arrange its scheduled maintenance.

  • Preparing and arranging shipping of samples or equipment to vessels, clients, other laboratories, or other Fugro Opco's.




Job Requirements



  • Legally authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions.

  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

  • Having an Associate's degree is preferred.

  • Previous experience as a forklift operator.

  • Previous experience working in a warehouse environment.

  • Proficient in computer IT skills, with a focus on data entry and database utilization, ensuring accurate and efficient management of information.

  • Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office suite.
