Project Engineer Job Responsibilities

  • Completes engineering projects by organizing and controlling project elements.
  • Develop project objectives by reviewing the project proposal (TORP) and plans prior to the site visit.
  • Conduct site visits with government staff on assigned task orders.
  • Generate RFI within two days after the site visit.
  • Generate detailed cost estimates using e4Clicks software. Knowledge of the software is preferred.
  • Conduct technical research on specific materials as needed for the project.
  • Generate 35% Conceptual Drawings and work with CAD Operator on the conceptual drawings.
  • Generate Statement of Work for the TORP.
  • Generate project draft contract progress schedule on AF Form 3064/3065.
  • Negotiate with the Government on the respective project.
  • Revise Draft Contract Progress Schedule (AF Form 3064/3065) based on Award documents.
  • Generate draft Budget Setup.
  • Submit AF Form 66, Submittal Register within 5 days after Award.
  • Determine project scope, assign the best subcontractors to the task, conduct site visits with respective sub-contractors, set deadlines for proposals, and review/evaluate proposals from contractors.
  • Manage the project after award to include processing the sub-contractor agreement request, reviewing submittals, tracking materials on order, and processing AF Form 103 as required.
  • Conduct Daily Inspections of work progress.
  • Address and resolve any problems/issues arising during the construction.
  • Generate Monthly Contract Progress Reports based on work progress/completion.
  • Track Contract Schedule (AF Form 3064) milestones on the project to ensure it is on schedule.
  • Controls project costs by approving expenditures and administrating contractor contracts.
  • Attend Weekly Meetings to update management on project status to include issues and resolutions.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by enforcing safety procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Inspect quality performance and workmanship on assigned projects.
  • Maintained project data with both written and photo documentation daily.
  • Schedule Pre-Finals and Final Inspections with Government representatives.
  • Provide As-Builts, O&M Manuals, Test Reports, Certificates, and any documentation pertaining to the respective project for Close Out.
  • Current CQC Certificate and 40 Hours EM 385-1 Safety Certificate preferable.
