Position/Title: EHS Representative III
Status: Full Time
FLSA: Exempt
Reports To: HR Manager
Position Purpose:
Responsible for the administration, implementation, and delivery of the Plant Safety & EMS program in compliance with Hendrickson EHS, OSHA, & ISO policies, programs, and requirements.
Essential Functions:
• Provide environmental, health and safety direction and assistance to assure the safety and health of Hendrickson associates through Vision Zero
• Administration of site EHS Procedures in accordance with Hendrickson EHS requirements
• Facilitate incident reporting, investigation, and follow-up with on-time completion of action items.
• Utilize the Velocity EHS System to track safety incidents, hazards, corrective actions, functions, and employee participation.
• Provide Monthly Safety KPI information on TCIR, DART, and Corrective Action Completion.
• Develop Annual Safety Training Plan and AOP
• Manage Industrial Hygiene issues and perform IH testing in collaboration with Corporate EHS.
• Assign and ensure completion of monthly, as well as annual, internal/external safety audits and follow-up.
• Conduct both (JSA'S) Job Safety Analysis and (WRA') Work Risk Analysis of work processes and operations.
• Engage with and provide safety consultation to current and new products engineering during the management of change process.
• Champion/manage/administer the Environmental Management System and ISO 14001-2015 Certification
• Maintenance of Chemical Inventory and new chemical requests in compliance with OSHA Hazardous Materials requirements.
• Lead employee safety and ergonomics team in the pursuit of vision zero.
• Serve as point of contact to fire and first aid service contractors.
• Schedule and manage annual employee audiometric testing.
• Assist in Workers Compensation case management as needed.
• Assign or facilitate all required OSHA & EHS safety training.
• Ensure Training and Annual Certification of Medical First Response Team Members is CPR/FA/AED/BPP
• Track the completion of all safety training in the established Safety Training Matrix.
• Track and provide key performance data as required by the EHS, Plant, & Division Management.
• Prepare safety communications for education and awareness.
• Develop and grow safety culture.
Education and Training
• Bachelor's Degree required in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or Industrial Engineering.
• 3-5 Plus years' experience with an emphasis on health and safety implementation in a manufacturing environment. Environmental compliance and ISO 14001-2015 experience is desired.
• CPR & First Aid Certification or the ability to be certified. CPR Training Certification a plus.
• Ability to provide overall direction and assistance of EHS initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
• Demonstrated experience in implementing and upgrading health and safety programs and process improvement.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills that include both one on one communication and group communication.
• Ability to lead and deliver trainings in group settings of 5-50 people at a time.
• Marked organizational skills with the ability to multitask
• Experience in championing Environmental Management Systems and compliance to maintain ISO certification.
• Strong computer skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook)
• Ability to work in fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Experience leading and participating on cross functional team collaborations.
• Self-Starter with good time management skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision to meet required deadlines.
