Senior BP Project Management Specialist - General Surgical Technologies

As a Senior BP Project Management Specialist, you will be a member of the General Surgical Technologies ( GST ) Operations Project Lifecycle Management Program ( PLM )

The GST group is looking for a Project Manager to lead the execution of SKU Rationalization projects with the overall intent to optimize the GST portfolio to better serve customer needs and deliver value to the Surgical OU. PLM is a key strategic initiative for the GST BU with targeted benefits in relation to free cash flow and portfolio health.

Location: Remote within the U.S. / less than 25% travel components

Day in the Life


  • As a member of the PLM Core Team, drives the planning and execution of identified SKU Rationalization projects aligned to the overall PLM program objectives.
  • Partners cross functionally with Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing and BU Operations to execute project deliverables.
  • Acts as a core team member of the GST Inventory Optimization Workstream which includes PLM as a key focus area
  • Reports out on progress and risks through the established program governance and communications operating mechanisms.
  • Is a subject matter expert for the specific projects in scope and can articulate scope and progress up and down the organization, including to members of the GST Leadership Team
  • Supports all financial and operational planning and forecasting processes ( eg AOP, 10Q, Strat Plan ) with the appropriate project data.
  • Manage the Project Lessons Learned process for each project; capture and review lessons learned. Horizontally deploy to other parts of the PM program and engage in two way best practice sharing.
  • Leads or leverages cross functional teams to evaluate, develop and manage projects for key business processes.
  • Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management.
  • Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports.
  • Monitors the project from initiation through delivery.
  • Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
  • Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.
  • Additional tasks as assigned

Must Have: Minimum Requirements


  • Bachelors degree with 4+ years of program management experience, project management experience, or experience supporting business process improvement

OR

  • An advanced degree with 2+ years of program management experience, project management experience, or experience supporting business process improvement

Nice to Have


  • Medical device experience or previous working experience with Medtronic
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Tools including Excel, PowerPoint & Project.
  • Marketing/supply chain or other relevant business knowledge
  • Managerial courage: confident managing risks and making difficult decisions that drive strategic objectives.
  • Works independently; comfortable with high levels of ambiguity; self-directed; and highly self-aware.
  • Successfully managed multiple projects from conception through commercialization, most desirably in the medical device industry.

The provided base salary range is used nationally (except in certain CA locations).The rate offered is compliant with federal/local regulations and may vary by experience,certification/education, market conditions, location, etc.
