Previous welding certification / 2 yrs min experience Experience in an industrial chemical environment strongly preferred. Set and adjust welding machine according to materials used. Identify and resolve hazards associated with assignments. Read blueprints, PIDs or instructions from supervisors. Check work along the way to ensure it's up to code and specifications. Must be able to perform basic rigging practices, provide certification, pass client or company welding certification, as well as flagging practices based on OSHA 1926.1428. Must be able to safely use hand and power tools and follow Company and site safety policies. Lay out, fit, and weld fabricated, cast, and forged components to assemble structural forms, such as machinery frames, tanks, pressure vessels, furnace shells, and building and bridge parts, according to blueprints and knowledge of welding and metallurgy. Select equipment and perform layout, assembly and welding applying knowledge of geometry, physical properties of metal machining, weld shrinkage, and welding techniques. Bolt, clamp, and tack-weld parts to secure in position for welding. May assemble parts by bolting and riveting. May repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts, using cutting torch, straightening press, and hand tools, and be designated Welder, Structural Repair (welding).

Must be capable of operating a standard 1/2 ton pick-up for occasional delivery and pick-up of materials and personnel and hold a valid, unrestricted motor vehicle operator's license issued by the state of residence, and the manual dexterity necessary to operate a standard desktop computer keyboard.
