Job Description:
Overview
Plans, writes code, and installs programs to automate power driven machines, tube bend to cut, sculpt, and finish metal.
Responsibilities
- Using a tube bending machine and working from written instructions and plans.
- Review 3D CAD design blueprints.
- Perform necessary calculations for programming and translate instructions into a computer automated manufacturing (CAM) program.
- Write new or modify existing programs as necessary.
- Fabricate parts by flaring, deburring, trimming, and forming material of various dimensions.
- Check completed programs by running simulations or tests.
- Monitor all programs to ensure blueprints are followed safely and successfully.
- Evaluate all completed designs to validate functions for improvements and efficiency.
- Follow an Oracle MRP schedule to ensure jobs are fully loaded and completed in accordance with set deadlines.
- Provide training to new operators as necessary.
- Maintain a strong, personal commitment to the safety culture.
- Other duties including housekeeping and 6S.
- All other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:
- High school diploma/general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- CNC certification from an accredited technical school preferred.
- Superior knowledge of CNC programming knowledge required.
- Proficient knowledge of electronics, machine tools, and fabrication metal shop work required.
- Excellent reading comprehension and math skills, to include algebra, trigonometry, and physics.
- Ability to continue education for new techniques and programs as they emerge.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures.
- Must be capable of utilizing proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
Physical Abilities & Requirements:
- Ability to lift to 25 lbs.
- Ability to sit for long periods of time.
- Requires occasional bending, stooping, lifting, carrying, and reaching or handling with arms, hands, and fingers.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to work with fingers.
- Normal vision with or without corrective lenses.
Working Conditions:
- Exposed to cold, heat, noise, and mechanical/electrical fumes or odors.
- Able to work in an air-conditioned office, outside, or in the shop as necessary.
