Job Description:


Establish the overall objectives and initiatives of the Engineering Department. Provides engineering expertise and /or support to other departments where needed. Ensures that all engineering projects and processes are in conformance with the organizations established policies and objectives from initiated and implemented Project Management methodology. Develop ideas for product enhancements and oversee the creation and improvement of products from recorded Quality issues that involve the Engineering Department. Lead, direct and monitor the work of the engineering staff.



Responsibilities:




  • Coordinate engineering activities needed to process sales orders through release to manufacturing.

  • Lead, direct, and monitor the work of the engineering department.

  • Maintain and improve processes and procedures and prioritizes product improvement initiatives in the support of field and factory change needs.

  • Provide engineering expertise and/or support to other departments where needed.

  • Promotes and lives the Munters Core Values.




Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:





  • Track record of effective leadership skills, the ability to build consensus amongst co-workers and the ability to facilitate problem resolution.

  • Strong team collaborative skills and ability to work within teams.

  • Knowledge HVAC, Refrigeration and/or Air Handling experience.

  • Ability to quickly establish credibility across the organization to drive change.

  • Solution driven, with developed analytical and project management skills.

  • Strong customer focus and persistent business approach.

  • Willing to travel if needed.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to communicate with people at all levels and in a multicultural environment




Requirements:





  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or 10+ years of manufacturing experience.

  • Experience or exposure to lean manufacturing concepts.

  • Experience in HVAC design and component selection including fans, coils, refrigeration systems, and gas heat.

  • Experience with PLC programming and HMI interfaces.

  • Experienced with sheet metal design in SolidWorks.

  • Demonstrated experience in configurable product management.

  • Product design support in a multi-factory environment.

  • Excellent interpersonal and computer skills.




Physical Requirements:



  • Sedentary work: exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. This work requires sitting most of the time.

  • Daily walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing for sustained periods of time, walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting.

  • Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts and/or operation of machines; using measurement devices; and/or assembly of fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.

  • The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
