Our Food Safety Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for performing physical and visual inspections of product and plant systems, documenting and calculating results accurately; taking corrective action when necessary (alert appropriate personnel to adjust process; identify, segregate, & isolate non-conforming product) and report results to management; any additional assignments requested. All team members are responsible for safety. This includes but is not limited to personal safety and food safety.
Pay/Schedule:
This role pays $24.10 an hour (not negotiable) with a $1 Shift Premium, this is for B Shift, the schedule rotates between Team Members, but generally a Team Member works 4-5 days a week, with about a 9 hour shift. Our plant runs 7 days a week, so some weekends may be required. More to be discussed about the schedule during the interview if selected for this step.
Requirements:
Education: High School diploma/GED
Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience in the Prepared Foods/Fresh Meats industry or other QA type experience required.
Communication Skills: Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Special Skills: Must possess skills to complete Tyson paperwork; ability to lead by example and motivate the hourly workforce; good problem identification and problem solving skills; math and organizational skills; ability to read and interpret product specifications; must function well under stress; must have flexibility to work where and when needed.
Physical Requirements: Position involves heavy lifting (70 lbs. or more).
