Kenyon College is conducting a search for a qualified candidate to fill the position of Staff Accountant. Reporting directly to the Controller, the Staff Accountant will perform a variety of duties supporting functions within the Finance and Accounting Office.



Essential Functions



  • Complete monthly bank reconciliations, and other reconciliations as assigned.

  • Assist in the preparation, update, and maintenance of the College's budget.

  • Assist in the maintenance of fixed asset listings and annual reporting.

  • Assist with Student Receivables, including enter payments and monthly reconciliations.

  • Prepare and enter monthly and ad-hoc adjusting journal and budgetary entries.

  • Assist with the annual financial reporting cycle, including financial statement preparation and audit
    support.

  • Support subsidiary activities.



Nonessential Functions



  • Serve as back-up to various positions within the Finance and Accounting Office.

  • Other duties as may be assigned.

  • Knowledge and experience with higher education or non-profit accounting preferred.

Working Conditions

Work is generally performed in an office environment. The ability to lift boxes or items of 30 pounds or less is needed.



Minimum Qualifications



  • Minimum Associate's Degree in Accounting required, Bachelor's Degree preferred.

  • Zero (or One) to three years of relevant accounting experience.

  • Strong skills in oral and written communication.
