Job Description:

Purpose of Role

This position will be the main support for all R&D activities within their respective site(s) including but not limited to the trials and start-ups of new products, packaging, processes and raw materials.

This position will lead deployment activities for basic new product development projects at the site and collaborate with RDT (Product, Pack and Process) resources to ensure all products meet current process capability at the local site and are implemented to an understood specification. In addition, this position will also implement sustainable process improvement initiatives & COGS using root cause and statistical analysis tools and will be the product/process representative in site HACCP and Risk Assessments at their respective site. This role requires ability to use and apply extensive knowledge of Quality & Engineering disciplines including Statistical Process Control, to execute activities aligned with the overall R&D strategy. The position will work with local team to manage non-conforming products and processes to ensure resolution. Significant collaboration is expected with Quality, Supply and Engineering including CVS support.

What we are looking for
Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in food science, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or related discipline preferred.


• 3-5 years of relevant work experience in manufacturing or R&D required/desired.


• Ability to travel 10% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a Food Manufacturing environment working in Quality, Food Safety, Engineering, or Product/Process Development


• Working knowledge of food processing or product development


• Green Belt Certification.


• Execute test plans and use SPC data analysis to quantify key process and packaging machine parameters and fundamental mechanisms at both pilot and factory scale.

What will be your key responsibilities?

• Collaborate with key stakeholders (RDT/SUPPLY/ENG/Q&FS).


• Support site activities which improve run rates, reduce waste and improve product quality.


• Work as part of the R&D team to assist in the scale-up risk and introduction of technology into supply chain.


• Manage the effective execution of line trials, qualifications and process capability evaluations.


• Participate in problem solving and troubleshooting activities to resolve product or process related issues that impact quality, cost and efficiency at the site with appropriate escalation protocol back to central team. Develop trouble shooting guide for shift associates in areas such as extrusion.


• Maintain scalable Standard Running Conditions (SRC's) collaboratively developed with Product Development and Process development to achieve exceptional product attribute targets and ensure superior product quality and food safety.
