JOB SCOPE/OBJECTIVES:

This is a 3rd shift position working Monday through Friday from 11:00pm to 7:00am, with overtime as needed. Starting pay $23.35 per hour plus $.35 shift differential.

Responsible for supplying or removing product while maintaining established production pace and standards. Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing the Taco Sauce line, from the preparation area to the end of the packaging area, according to established quality and sanitation standards.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS CHARACHERISTICS:

Lifts 25 lbs. or less frequently; lifts 50 lbs. occasionally.  Walks and/or stands most of the day. Reaches over head and stoops frequently. May push/pull. These physical demands are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the above job. While performing the responsibilities of the above job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel and to manipulate keys on a keyboard. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.  Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Complies with all applicable standards such as USDA, FDA, relevant CFRs, GFSI, and other applicable customer requirements. Adheres to HACCP, Allergen Control Program, GMPs, product specifications, and other QA plans and required process control procedures to ensure processes, work in progress, raw materials and finished goods meet the specified quality and standards. Must assist Mechanic as necessary and requested. Must perform job so as to maintain quality standards. Follow established policies and procedures. Perform job function in such a manner that always maximizes productivity.

Report all accidents immediately. Report all out of specification situations immediately to Supervisor.

Maintain housekeeping and safety of work area. Point out methods for either a safer and/or more productive operation. Care for assigned equipment, supplies, and materials. Properly clean the mix kettle, tanks, conveyors, filler and labeler in such a manner that the line meets quality standards and is ready for production. Ability to disassemble and re-assemble food manufacturing equipment.

Ability to understand the flow of product, water, chemicals, etc., through a series of pipes and equipment so as not to contaminate any sauce or otherwise damage product or equipment. Ability to safely work with chemicals and perform lock-out/tag-out functions when needed to perform work. Maintain area in a clean and safe manner by ensuring floor is clean of debris and garbage is emptied.

Bottle Dumper

Properly dump glass from empty cases at rate of production and put empty cases on take-away conveyor in acceptable configuration. While dumping, inspect glass for breakage, cracks, chips, etc. and remove as necessary.

Labeler

Responsible for making sure the labeler is filled with labels. Maintain glue levels. Safely and expeditiously clear all jams while minimizing product damage and loss. Maintain proper gluing integrity.

Inform mechanic of any issues. Be aware if the case packer or labeler goes down that someone should be panning the product off the line.

Case Packer

Responsible for changing case code dates. Recondition of substandard product. Maintain glue levels. Purge casing machine at end of shift. Safely and expeditiously clear all jams while minimizing product damage and loss. Maintain proper gluing integrity. Maintain proper pallet patterns and stack height. Maintain proper speed to keep up with production rate. Record and affix pallet tags. Report code date problems. Maintain adequate supplies of pallets, tags, slip-sheets, etc.

All other duties as assigned.

IDEAL CANDIDATE SPECIFICATIONS:

Must be self-motivated and able to perform with minimal supervision. Should have ability to interact with co-workers on taco sauce line. Able to safely and confidently work around moving machinery so as to avoid accident to yourself and others. Able to learn and understand the machines operations.
