Overview



Description: Responsible for industrial engineering improvements for system-wide complex business components or complex projects. Manage the business, function, and discipline by developing and establishing tactical and operational objectives and goals from the organization's strategic plan. Delegate goals and objectives to subordinate managers/supervisors for implementation and conducts measurements on a regular basis. Duties include:


1. Work with product Supply Chain teams to manage product quality performance and develop strategy to achieve World Class Quality performance as measured by our core Key Performance Indicators.
2. Develop Product Quality Plans/Quality Roadmaps to improve product performance and FPY (First Pass Yield) based on the detailed technical knowledge of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
3. Develop resolutions encompassing multifaceted problems that frequently require new and creative thinking.
4. Manage total product quality performance and improvement activities to achieve excellence at the product level.
5. Facilitate 8D meetings for other organizations within the company, and participate in customer meetings to report on failures.
6. Collaborate with representatives of material and component vendors to obtain information related to supply quality, the capacity of vendors to meet orders, and vendor quality standards.
7. Deliver solutions to internal and external customers to ensure that Brooks Automation will meet stakeholders' needs/expectations. Integrate local management teams to identify opportunities for the betterment of the current processes to minimize variation and maximize efficiencies. Ensure fulfillment of customer quality requirements.
8. Lead the team to promote a "zero defect" culture and lead initiatives such as 5S, Lean Manufacturing, and 6 Sigma that are focused on continuous improvement within the business.
9. Lead cross-functional teams to contain product quality issues and drive root cause corrective action to ensure the defect does not happen again.


Domestic and international travel 15% of the time.


Requirements: Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field, and 2 years of experience performing production engineering.


Experience, which may be gained concurrently, to include each of the following:


• 2 years of experience identifying quality improvements opportunities in product and manufacturing processes.
• 2 years of experience conducting product failure analysis on returned products and developing reports and customer presentations.
• 2 years of experience utilizing DOE, FMEA and other industry-standard tools to identify and address risks, and optimize process parameters.
• 2 years of experience ensuring component quality and reliability, and making recommendations to improve designs and testing.
• 2 years of experience performing monthly data analysis and preparing metrics detailing field product quality.
• 2 years of experience determining product quality issues with materials, processes, fixtures and equipment during new-product phase to ensure delivery of mature products and manufacturing processes during mass production.
