Entry level position in the Compression department. The Compression Operator is responsible for the set-up and operation of the compression machine in accordance with company Standard Operating Procedures and maintaining 100% cGMP and compliance to ensure the production of quality products.
Essential Functions:
Responsible for in-process checks like average weight, thickness, hardness, friability and individual tablet weight, etc.
Starts “B” and “A” cleaning compression rooms. Ensures IPQA process is followed.
Checks and verifies the ingredient weighed in Mixing & Granulation against the PBR entries, reports any discrepancy to Supervisor or designee.
Maintains the weighing scales neatly and cleanly to check the calibration status. If the calibration status is out of due date, inform Supervisor.
Responsible for area cleanliness of the compression room and machine.
Checks the tablets for physical defects like sticking, chipping, capping during the entire run of compression.
Responsible for online documentation in all Compression operations. Checks and reviews batch records for accuracy.
Properly identifies the blend and tablet rejections and segregates them from the good compressed tablets.
Informs supervisor or group leader of any issues during the compression process including abnormal machine operation.

Education:
High School or GED General HS Curriculum - Preferred
Experience:
Less than one year in Experience in Pharmaceuticals/ Manufacturing
1 year or more in Experience in Pharmaceuticals/ Manufacturing
Skills:
Required to read, write, and communicate in English. - Intermediate
High school level math and mechanical skills. - Intermediate
Flexible to work extended hours when required. - Intermediate
Ability to work as part of a team. - Intermediate
Attention to detail and accuracy. - Intermediate
Specialized Knowledge:
High speed Compression Machine set up preferred.
