The University of Chicago's Department of Pediatrics, Section of Hematology/Oncology and Stem Cell Transplantation, in the Biological Sciences Division, seeks full-time faculty members at any rank. As full-time faculty, the appointees will contribute to patient care, medical education, and scholarship, and join a vibrant and distinguished community of faculty colleagues and learners in the Biological Sciences Division, the Pritzker School of Medicine, UChicago Medicine (UCM), and the University of Chicago. As Director of Hematologic Malignancies, the successful applicant will lead a Pediatric Hematologic Malignancy Program with the overarching goal of enhancing its clinical and academic excellence.


The Chicago Hematologic Malignancies Program is a multidisciplinary team comprising faculty members from the Section of Hematology/Oncology in the Department of Pediatrics, the Adolescent and Young Adult Oncology Program in the Departments of Pediatrics and Medicine, the Department of Pathology, at the University of Chicago and the University of Chicago Comprehensive Cancer Center. The program is a key component of the Cancer Service Line of the Chicagoland Children's Health Alliance (CCHA), a partnership between UCM, Advocate Children's Hospital, and NorthShore University Health System. The CCHA, has sites of care across the region, and is responsible for the care of the largest population of children in the state of Illinois.


We are particularly interested in applicants who are accomplished program builders and leaders with proven strong clinical trials and/or translational science abilities, collaborative skills, and experienced mentors willing to pursue the strong opportunities for academic and clinical development of the program. A competitive package will be provided to the individual dependent on his/her investigative focus. Broader leadership opportunities are available for appropriately qualified candidates.


Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, 3) be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hematology and/or Oncology, 4) have leadership experience in managing a complex clinical and/or translational research portfolio.
