A&M's Employment Tax team is composed of seasoned tax professionals, experienced in providing practical tax advice on all employment tax matters to a variety of industries. By utilising an integrated approach of A&M professionals with deep operating and financial-related experience, the team uses a focused and tailored approach to rapidly identify and understand our clients' needs in order to help them to effectively manage the taxes and charges on their people strategies.
The Employment Tax professionals collaborate with the firm's Global Transaction Tax, Global Transaction Advisory Group and Performance Improvement practices to deliver a truly integrated solution to clients.
Responsibilities
Research for advisory and compliance purposes across all areas of Australian employment tax and entitlements obligations including: Pay As You Go (PAYG) withholding, Fringe Benefits Tax, Superannuation Guarantee, Payroll Tax, and Workers Compensation
Help develop analytical tools to quickly analyse large amounts of client data, drawing key insights for clients
Prepare & review employment tax returns, including FBT returns, payroll tax returns and superannuation guarantee calculations
Prepare & present well researched, high quality deliverables across all areas of Employment taxes
Assist clients in engagements and interactions with, and reviews by, revenue authorities, including strategic advice on managing complex employment tax risks.
Manage employment tax due diligence projects, helping to identify key employment tax risks and potential deal breakers
Analyse detailed employment tax computations and other documents to convert the data into meaningful information that is used to drive discussions with target management and drive observations and conclusions
Assist with business development efforts such as preparing marketing materials, participating in meetings with clients and proposals
Participate in and lead meetings and conference calls with clients and serve as an additional point of contact for client personnel with respect to day-to-day execution matters
Assist with day-to-day client interaction on deals and other work
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or master's degree in law, accounting and/or related major
Big Four experience required
Strong Employment tax advisory experience
Strong technical knowledge of Australian employment tax laws
Experience with coding and data analytics highly preferable
