PROJECT ENGINEER II


Rocket Lab is adding a dedicated Project Engineer II to assist in developing our ground systems infrastructure. The Project Engineer II will be responsible for the management of the engineering and technical disciplines of ongoing projects as well as champion the proper implementation of all the elements of those projects.

To be a successful in this role you will have the ability to work with multiple cross discipline projects and demonstrate excellent project management, communication, and supervision skills. You will also have high level decision-making skills as well as a good understanding of engineering change processes.


WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO:

  • Track Project budget and timelines in high fidelity to ensure targets are met
  • Liaise with stakeholders across RL to gather requirements and ensure all teams project needs are met.
  • Manage Contractors onsite to ensure they meet expectations and deliver on timelines
  • Provide onsite support and troubleshooting
  • Work within GSE to ensure each project has the staffing to match its real-time workloads
YOU'LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Project Engineering or other technical discipline.
  • 2+ years' experience as a Project Engineer in an industrial or new space environment.
  • 2+ years hands on experience with Gantt Chart timelining and related planning tools.
  • A strong working knowledge of Engineering design and the ability to read engineering drawings.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite of tools.
  • Strong understanding of the Engineering Change Process.
THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE:

  • Knowledge of relevant Standards/Legislation in Electrical and/or Piping
  • The ability to work with multiple discipline projects.
  • Must be extremely action orientated with the ability to move at pace, build alliances, and keep people engaged.
  • Working Knowledge of CAD-NX/Solidworks/ePlan/Draftsight

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
  • Regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, operate computer keyboard and controls, and communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Must be physically able to commute to buildings
  • Occasional exposure to dust, fumes and moderate levels of noise.
