Job Description:

Due to Growth CIT Franklin is looking for aerospace and mechanical engineers experience with design and substantiation of aircraft structures. The openings we have are both entry level and experienced. Our mechanical engineers are responsible for the development and documentation of mechanical designs in a cross-functional engineering team environment. Provides support to other departments including manufacturing, sales, customer service, and quality. Products include high-performance electro-mechanical systems and components, integrated structures, and control panels used for aircraft entertainment, navigation, and communication systems. The positions will be involved in Creates designs by analyzing product or equipment specifications, performance requirements, and existing manufacturing capabilities. Depending on role can perform basic to moderately complex design, fabrication, modification, and evaluation of products by applying engineering principals and established analytical tools. Develops detailed designs by using provided by others. Research manufacturing or processing techniques, materials, properties, process advantages, and limitations as part of long-range plant and product engineering planning. Candidates should be familiar with MS Office and 3D design software. Knowledge about the operation and design of aircraft Mechanical and avionics systems is a plus. Minimum of a bachelor's degree or 4 years related industry experience.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE


Appropriate education and/or experience may be substituted on equivalent basis.


* Bachelor of Science in engineering or related field of study or five (5) or more years of industry experience required.

* Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
* Proficient written and verbal communication skills.


JOB SKILLS


* Knowledge about the operation and design of aircraft electrical and avionics systems is a plus.
* Familiarity with regulatory certification requirements for aircraft electrical and avionics systems is a plus.
* Proficient in MS Office: Word, PowerPoint, Outlook,
* Skills in the use of 2D and/or 3D design software a plus.
* Optimally utilizes all channels of communications.
* Demonstrates good judgment and decision-making skills.


* Ability to be flexible and able to function comfortably in a fast paced, constantly changing, and ambiguous environment while maintaining a positive team environment.
* Reliable and flexible to work additional hours on short notice to complete orders and/or special projects to meet customer demands.
* Understanding and experience in Lean manufacturing environment preferred. Participate in continuous improvement projects and 5S related performance teams.
* A team player that can relate to people at all levels of the organization and possesses excellent communication skills with high ethical standards and a positive professional image.
* Ability to read and understand verbal and written instructions, read blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
* Writing skills required to complete documents and forms.

WORK ENVIRONMENT


The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Work is performed in a normal office environment with minimal physical risks involved. The noise level in the work environment is low to moderate.


Carlisle Interconnect Technologies is a clean facility, housing different machinery, equipment, processes, and chemicals which produce potential hazards in the work environment such as: ergonomic, chemical, machine point of operation, and powered industrial vehicle traffic. These hazards are controlled through means of engineering controls, such as machine guarding, and administrative controls, such as safety policies and programs. In certain areas of the facility, employees are required to wear Personal Protective equipment such as Hearing Protection, Safety Glasses, Safety Toe Shoes, and hand protection.


PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS


* ASTM F-2412-2005, ANSI Z41-1999, or ANSI Z41-1991 rated safety toe shoes in specific areas
* Clear ANSI Z87.1 safety rated glasses in specific areas
* Hearing protection, in specific locations
* Ability to compile with JSA in specific areas

TRAVEL


* 10% Occasional domestic and international overnight travel may be required to support on-site aircraft surveys, design reviews, and product installations.
