Summary of Duties:


The Research Coordinator contributes to and coordinates research activities for grants and contracts within the IMPACT Lab in the Department of Human Development at Washington State University. Most of the coordinator's work involves contributing to the development, planning, organization, and management of the lab's scientific projects, including: contributing to grant proposals and scholarly papers; IRB preparation; producing research and technical reports and presentations; designing and executing specific phases of research projects; tracking and submitting deliverables; budget creation/monitoring; and participating in and contributing to planning meetings with funders. In collaboration with lab faculty, staff, and students, the coordinator also manages administrative tasks for the research projects to which they are assigned, including creating meeting agendas, scheduling meetings across multiple calendars/agencies, note-taking, and managing Zoom/Teams video meetings.





Required Qualifications:




  • A Bachelor's degree in social or behavioral science, business or economics discipline and three (3) years of progressively responsible related professional research experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.




  • Bachelor's degree in Prevention Science, Psychology, Public Health, Social Work, Human Development or a related field




  • Ability to meet frequent and multiple deadlines




  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with staff in different geographic locations and with a range of education and experience levels




  • Excellent attention to detail




  • Excellent oral and written communication skills




  • Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to accurately complete detailed work







Preferred Qualifications:




  • Master's degree or current graduate student in Psychology, Social Work, Public Health, Prevention Science, Implementation Science, Human Development, or closely related fields of study




  • Content knowledge and professional experience in prevention science or public health




  • Experience with grant writing and scholarly writing




  • Familiarity with risk and protective factors framework




  • Experience in or familiarity with research on substance use (particularly tobacco & cannabis) prevention programs




  • Experience in or familiarity with quantitative and qualitative analysis




  • Proficiency designing and administering Qualtrics surveys




  • Experience submitting IRB applications, particularly at the state level




  • Proficiency in the use of citation management software such as Zotero, Mendeley

Monthly Salary:

$3,750.85 - $5,397.56



In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.
