The Valuation Group is responsible for the management of the quarterly valuation process across all Carlyle funds. The 2-Year Jr Analyst will assist the Valuation Group with the maintenance and development of the process, including quarterly valuation reviews, maintaining and assisting in developing valuation models and systems, valuation analytics, internal/external valuation reporting, tracking valuation meetings and deliverables, maintaining documentation and assisting with various ad-hoc requests. This position will complete a two-year term in the Valuation Group. Strong performers will be considered for a 3rd year and/or recommended for other opportunities within the Firm.
Responsibilities
Support the management of the corporate quarterly valuation process. This may include interacting and coordinating with Fund Management teams on valuation committee meetings and quarterly deliverables, tracking and managing compliance with quarterly deliverables and policy, maintaining and updating key valuation inputs for use by investment teams in valuation models, maintaining key documentation and assisting with reviewing investment valuations across Corporate Private Equity, Real Estate, Global Credit and Energy funds
Assist with the preparation of investment/fund/sector level valuation metrics and reporting. This may include preparing and updating quarterly fund and sector valuation analytics and reports, assisting in developing trending and other key management reports, working closely with other areas of Investor Services to ensure valuation data is consistent across firm and creating ad-hoc reports as required
Assist with the maintenance and improvement of valuation models and systems, including the maintenance of existing valuation models and systems, helping the implementation of new valuation models and systems and interacting with IT and business teams to achieve those objectives.
Qualifications
Education & Certificates
Bachelor's Degree, required
Concentration in in Finance, Economics or Accounting, preferred
Minimum 3.0 GPA required
CFA or progress towards CFA is a plus
Professional Experience
0-2 years of relevant experience, required
Prior experience in an analytical or financial role, preferred
Exceptional undergraduate candidates considered with demonstrated expertise in quantitative analysis, financial modeling and excellent academic qualifications
Experience with database systems and Microsoft Access
Experience analyzing and modelling cash flows; advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Working knowledge of cash flow analysis and financial modelling
Working knowledge of valuation concepts regarding operating companies, real estate and/or debt/equity financial instruments a plus
Ability to work across departments and teams in a collaborative and efficient manner
