The automotive markets Holman serves include fleet management and leasing; vehicle fabrication and upfitting; component manufacturing and productivity solutions; powertrain distribution and logistics services; commercial and personal insurance and risk management; and retail automotive sales as one of the largest privately owned dealership groups in the United States.




What will you do?



  • Design, implement, and maintain a compliance program for Holman operations, worldwide.

  • Work with and influence leaders at multiple businesses and functions across the Enterprise.

  • Identify and assess legal/compliance risk, vulnerabilities, and opportunities for efficient and effective legal/compliance risk coverage.

  • Identify, research, analyze and evaluate laws and regulations, with an eye to applicability, materiality, and prioritization.

  • Develop Holman policies and procedures aimed at compliance, and review and enhance existing Holman compliance policies, procedures, and activities.

  • Coordinate closely with Holman risk personnel and initiatives, including Holman Enterprise Risk Management and Internal Audit.

  • Define the necessary level of knowledge across the organization to comply with applicable laws and regulations.

  • Design, implement and maintain a work plan or "road map" for the compliance program, adjusting the plan where required by law and regulation, by risk, or by reason of other facts, e.g. organizational decisions.

  • If the compliance program so requires, establish a compliance council with members across the Enterprise, whose job functions have a significant compliance component.

  • Provide advice and support to compliance council members, the Enterprise, and Business Units.

  • Design, develop, and implement systems for compliance guidance, advice, training, and support.

  • Draft and present clear and concise legal compliance reports, and provide strategic and tactical direction to Senior Leadership.

  • Design, develop, and implement systems to support and coordinate response to regulatory and law enforcement agencies, regarding compliance matters.

  • Support the Enterprise and its Business Units relative to external audits, reviews, examinations, investigations, and other inquiries, including litigation.

  • Design, implement, and coordinate internal compliance audits, reviews, examinations, investigations, and other inquiries.

  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.

  • Be a doer and self-starter, able to influence others to partner on a project.




What are we looking for?



  • Bachelor's degree in a related field required, advanced degree (e.g. JD) preferred.



  • Proficient in various desktop tools including MS Office Programs (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, SharePoint etc.)

  • Proven ability to analyze, evaluate and make recommendations on compliance questions.



  • 8+ years' experience in a dedicated compliance function

  • 3+ years leading enterprise initiatives and successful at influencing and leadership skills.

  • Familiarity with the automotive industry and applicable state and federal laws preferred.

  • Extensive experience working with departments and/or function(s) within and across other disciplines.



  • Establishes overall direction and strategic initiatives for the given major function or line of business.

  • Creates functional strategies and specific objectives and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure.

  • Deep knowledge of compliance and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.

  • Optimizes the talents of indirect team members for the strategy of the business.

  • Make appropriate course corrections when executing the strategic plan.

  • Successful team building.

Pay:



We offer competitive wages that are commensurate with job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and geographic location, starting in the range of $189,530.00 - $298,515.00 USD annually for full time employees. The annual compensation range is comprised of base pay and bonus earnings.
