The Communications & Outreach Intern at our administrative office, will learn from and be supervised by the Senior Manager of Corporate Partnerships. During the course of the internship, the intern will experience a wide range of functions in areas of communications, marketing strategies, connecting with external and internal stakeholders, creating and executing engagement and event planning. Social media strategies, and community relations will be additional learning opportunities.
Hourly rate: $16.50/hr
Hours per week: 20 hours during a 10-week timeframe
Travel requirement: 50%
Learning Goals consist of understanding and execution on:
Community engagement event coordination
Social media management for nonprofits
Spreadsheet creation & content management
Community outreach team calendar management
Content writing for web and blog posts
Qualifications
Ideal interns will demonstrate the following:
Experience with, or able to learn, Adobe Suite
Detail oriented administrative abilities and accurate data entry experience
Ability to develop informational reporting based on raw data requests
Proficiency in Windows, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Discrete, trustworthy with strong business integrity and ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
Able to meet time-sensitive timeframes when necessary
Ability to lift 50 lbs
Must be willing to travel locally for community engagement activities
Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities
Excellent filing skills are required, and strong organizational skills
Professional and customer service-oriented demeanor, comfortable working with all levels of employees
Motivated self-starter who can work independently and in team environment
Excellent business phone etiquette
Excellent editing, spelling, grammar and punctuation skills
