Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and software technical leaders to define new instructions and functions. Lead design reviews and ensure complete implementation. Ensure new instructions, functions, and features are compatible with existing z/ Architecture. Provide technical support and feedback on architectural features adopted for the current company’s systems. Ensure new features and enhancements that are implemented are performing as expected. Generate disclosures and file for patents to detail the enhancements developed for the company’s z/Architecture and the system as a whole. Provide technical feedback to the various development teams, marketing, product teams, and business partners as needed on the system architecture features. Contribute to the company’s Research initiatives, white papers, press releases, trade secret boards, and technical publications. Utilize: Hardware System Architecture, Firmware Development, Embedded Systems, Programming Languages. Required: Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or related (employer will accept a bachelor’s degree plus five (5) years of progressive experience in lieu of a Master’s degree) and one (1) year of experience as a Firmware Developer, Engineer or related. One (1) year of experience must include utilizing Hardware System Architecture, Firmware Development, Embedded Systems, Programming Languages. $153,899.76 - $185,800.00 per year.
