Job Description:

Board Certified Behavioral Analyst

VOACC is seeking a full-time BCBA to service clients in the Northern Virginia and Hampton Roads areas. The BCBA will collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to design, monitor, and direct the implementation of a formal positive behavior support plan for  and their families.  The BCBA will also support, assess competencies, and train DSPs, RCs, CCs, and BTCs  The plan is written for all staff, family, and friends who support the person.

Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) Responsibilities and Duties


  • Conduct intake evaluations including functional behavioral assessments and skills assessments

  • Design behavior support plans that are person-centered and meet all regular requirements in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

  • Monitor the progress of behavior goals and objectives.

  • Design positive behavioral support plans with goals tailored to the person

  • Supervise and train DSP, CC, RC, and BTCs on proper implementation of the plan,

  • Graph data, adjust strategies as needed to ensure progress, and provide quarterly progress summaries

  • Adheres to professional and legal requirements, the principles of behavior analysis and demonstrates sound professional judgment

  • Participates in the persons PCP planning process and meeting.

  • Collaborates with families, caregivers and all service providers as necessary to ensure continuity of care.

  • Performs direct and indirect assessments to identify the function of person’s behaviors.

  • Develops a behavior support plan based on the functions of the behavior and treatment methodologies that are evidence-based.

  • Attends all relevant meetings IEP/ISP.State and Local Human Rights Committee (SHRC/LHRC)and staffing meetings.

  • Adequately demonstrates their abilities to work effectively as a part of a clinical team.

  • Attend any authorization/review calls.

  • Collects data before and during the implementation of the plan so that the plan’s efficacy can be assessed and data-based decisions can be made.

  • Provides direct instruction/ongoing supervision, training and support to the person supported, staff members and family members during regularly-scheduled visits.  This includes monthly visits at all locations the person receives support in (i.e. home, work, day program, family home).

  • Evaluates the effectiveness of the implemented behavior supportplan and modifies the plan as necessary.

  • Participate in the Leadership Team

  • Upon receiving information from the director, the BCBA will initiate services with people admitted to the program within 48 hours.

  • Manages caseload and prepares and submits all required documentation on time. This includes, but is not limited to: assessments, BSPs, insurance updates as required, session notes after every session, at least monthly analysis of the data,  participation in planning meetings, etc.

  • Performs other duties as requested/assigned.

Responsibilities:


  • Provide direct/indirect BCBA supervision to DSPs and RCs, CCs, and BTCs

  • Design ABA curriculum plans, review, and update on a regular basis

  • Design behavior intervention plans

  • Clinically review reports and session notes on a regular basis

  • Analyze ABA data and implement data-driven program changes

  • Write reports summarizing data and progress for each person supported

  • Regular communication with parents and guardians, Support Coordinators, and other Stakeholders

  • Provide parent and staff training

  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail

  • Quarterly reviews submitted by all deadlines (10th of the month)

Job Requirements:



  • BCBA certification issued by the BACB.

  • Currently licensed as a Behavior Analyst in the Commonwealth of Virginia

  • Valid driver's license in state of residence and acceptable driving record.

  • Prior experience working as BCBA is preferred

  • Proficiency in Microsoft programs

  • Experience working with people diagnosed with I/DD.

  • Vehicle required for travel between assignments, and valid driver's license.
