Calling all night owls!  We are currently looking for a Night Warehouse Order Selector who works Sunday through Thursday evening. Cash-Wa Distributing is a strong, stable and financially smart company.  As one of the largest privately-owned food service distributors in the Midwest our family owned company has a history of building strong relationships.   • Hours:  shift starts at 4:30pm

  • Wages:  Starting wage is $23.02/hr  (earn up to $81k with incentives)

  • Hiring Bonus:  $2,000  (½ paid after 6 mo, ½ paid after 12 mo)

  • Opportunity:  All warehouse team members start as a night picker, but can later move to other warehouse positions such as a forklift receiver/stocker.

  • Basic math and reading skills are needed in all positions

  • Temperatures:  Dry section temps range from 40-80 degrees by season, Perishable section is 29-53 in the cooler, and Freezer section -10 to 0 degrees in the freezer.  Can work in all three areas. 

Responsibilities:

On a daily basis, this individual will be responsible for working in a professional team environment and performing various duties that will include:


  • Accurately, safely and efficiently pick food and other products from shelves and other storage areas using electric pallet jacks and forklifts.

  • Show general knowledge of packaging and product -- including ability to identify and build pallets with dry, chill and frozen items.

  • Applies labels accurately with right placement and right product to ensure outbound product is properly stacked, in the right order and securely wrapped.

  • Operate voice selection system in accordance with specific job functions.

  • Practices safe body mechanics and Accident Prevention Program (APP) protocols

  • Follow federal and state regulations for HAZMAT, OSHA and food safety requirements.

  • Operate all working equipment safely and efficiently.

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:


  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.

  • Related distribution center experience helpful, but not required..

  • Must be able to perform basic math calculations.


  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English as it relates to the job and safety regulations is required.

  • Frequent lifting, 10-80 lbs., occasionally up to 100 lbs.

  • Ability to support a team environment by meeting attendance expectations with consistency and punctuality is required.  

  • Ability to meet productivity standards in a fast-paced environment is required.


  • Must be willing to work nights.

  • Must be willing to work in a multi-temp environment, including freezer to -10 F.

  • Must be able to pass drug test.

Physical


  • Frequently stand/walk during selection activities during shift.

  • Frequently bend and twist retrieving items from floor or lower shelf areas.

  • Frequently lift using both hands/arms reaching, grasping and carrying, weights up to 50 lbs., occasionally up to 100 lbs., rarely up to 100 lbs.

  • Ability to exert pull force up to 50 lbs., rarely up to 120 lbs.

  • Visual and hearing abilities required as it relates to the job and safety regulations.

  • Frequently climbing on and off pallet jacks and/or forklifts, while safely operating a pallet jack and/or forklift requires stepping on and off 10” platform.
