Job Description:

LifeWorks of Austin, TX is looking for a full-time Counselor II to join our Youth & Adult Counseling team! As a fully licensed and experienced counselor, the Counselor II in the Youth and Adult Counseling (YAC) program provides strengths-based, trauma-informed individual, couples, group and/or family counseling as appropriate to the assigned program. The Counselor II demonstrates emerging leadership by modeling robust clinical knowledge and skill and supervising interns.


This full time, exempt position earns a competitive starting pay rate ranging from $68,592.52-$74,586.04 depending upon experience. Benefits are also included, which consist of 24 PTO days per year (accrued); 15 paid holidays per year; a free employee medical plan with $100 per month HSA contribution (plus other affordable employee or family medical, dental, and vision options!); a retirement savings plan with 50% match on the first 6% of contributions, and much more!  


RESPONSIBILITIES 



  • Provides individual, couples, group and/or family counseling based on program population, face-to-face or via telehealth.

  • Provides crisis intervention with clients based on individual program needs.

  • Provides training and supervision to interns and volunteers.

  • Assists in program development, quality assurance, and special projects, such as conducting file reviews and actively engaging in program improvement projects.

  • Administers client services which may include:

    • completing assessments,

    • diagnosis, session planning and treatment planning,

    • timely and accurate documentation of services in agency database,

    • record keeping, third party billing documentation,

    • case management tasks as appropriate,

    • evaluation of client progress,

    • completing follow-ups with clients,

    • contacting necessary external and internal collaterals





  • Provides appropriate referrals and keeps apprised of available community resources.

  • Provides or coordinates community outreach by attending community fairs and mental health-related events, providing information about program and agency services, and providing training or participating on panels regarding program, agency, or community mental health services.

  • Follows licensure requirements as determined by associated disciplines and Boards.

  • Follows the guidelines of oversight entities including the program, agency, funder and/or accrediting body.

  • Builds and maintains collaborative relationships internally and externally.

  • Attends team meetings and supervision.

  • Utilizes selected evidence-based practices as required.


QUALIFICATIONS 



  • Requires a Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling or a related field and advanced licensure.

  • Requires 2+ years post-graduate direct clinical experience; or

  • Competent in use of electronic systems such as client databases, MS Office including Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint.
