Job Summary:

Analysis, design, programming, testing, and implementation of new and existing software applications in the Oracle E-Business Suite environment in accordance with user requirements.       

Essential Functions & Accountabilities:


  • Analyze technical requests from users related to Oracle e-Business 12.x  for new extensions, interfaces, reports,  standard program changes, etc. and recommend necessary action

  • Provide technical design for Oracle e-Business RICE elements to meet user requirements.

  • Write new or modify existing programs according to specified systems designs, in accordance with both Oracle and CooperVision development standards.

  • Test new or modified programs to ensure that they conform to design.   Develop test data for use in program testing.

  • Write technical documentation of system changes in conformance with department standards.

  • Write any necessary user documentation (report descriptions, user procedures, operations procedures)

  • Train users in operation of new or modified code elements.

  • Provide high level time and cost estimates of program development to project management and team members.

  • Write technical design documents for Jr. Oracle e-Business programmers and contractors.        Review and approve design documentation and code written by Jr. programmers/contractors.

  • Mentor Jr. Programmers / contractors on the team in new / leading edge methods for writing code in the Oracle e-Business suite space.

  • Lead code reviews for Oracle e-Business related code.    Provide insight/recommendations to CooperVision development team.

  • Provide programming / technical support on-site or by phone as required for all shifts

  • Interface as a technical contact with Oracle support as it relates to solving Oracle service requests (SR’s).

  • Maintain awareness of technological developments in computer hardware and software systems, focusing on Oracle e-Business Suite

  • Provide timely and concise summaries of project status to manager

Project Execution


  • Communicates and applies project standards. 

  • Consistently delivers high-quality services to the user community. 

  • Plan and lead testing, implementation, training, support and documentation activities for Oracle e-Business projects

  • Assist other developers, both internal and external, through provision of functional specifications and technical walk through

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Technically fluent in programming languages, including designing, developing, and implementing interfaces, extensions, forms and reports in the Oracle e-Business Suite of applications (version 12.x).  Prior experience with Enterprise Application Integration tools and SOA based Applications and Architectures a plus.

  • Reviews user requirements for new applications or enhancements to existing applications and performs analysis, design, development, testing, installation and training related to the application developed.

  • Understanding of the Software development life cycle (Waterfall & Agile like methods) and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies.

  • Complete understanding of the Oracle e-Business Suite architecture regarding schemas/ products, standard application program interfaces (API's), data elements, tables, and views.

  • Has experience creating/maintaining interfaces between Oracle and legacy applications   

  • Owns previous experience writing conversions for both static (ex…Customers, Items) as well as dynamic (ex…Sales Orders, Purchase Orders) data into Oracle e-Business Suite applications.

  • Experience working on Oracle e-Business Suite projects that are part of a long-term multi-phase roadmap preferred.

  • Functional knowledge of Oracle e-Business Suite applications:  Purchasing, Order Management, Shipping, Inventory, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, GL

  • Other desirable skills Include:

  • Ability to produce exceptional quality output 

  • Complete understanding of the Oracle e-Business Suite technical architecture and underlying table structures and their usage to design and develop efficient program units.

  • Understanding of Oracle WebLogic and it’s usage in Oracle e-Business Suite (12.x). 

  • Sound architectural concepts in areas such as Middleware and Integration Patterns and technology

  • Proficient in SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle Reports, Workflow, Oracle Forms, Forms Personalizations, and Java.

  • Deep technical understanding and technical capability with Oracle RDBMS.       Experience writing and tuning complex queries.

Work Environment:


  • Normal office environment.

  • Occasional exposure to manufacturing environments for the purpose of managing or training in software applications.

Experience:


  • 10+ years’ experience in designing, developing, implementing interfaces, extensions, forms and reports in the Oracle e-Business Suite of applications.

  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project

Education:


  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related experience.

For U.S. locations that require disclosure of compensation, the starting base pay for this role is between $104,000 and $139,588 per year and may include cost of living adjustments.  The actual base pay includes many factors and is subject to change and modification in the future.  This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation and benefits.
