The Institute for Genomics at Sarah Lawrence College is searching for a Head of Program Development to lead its efforts in developing innovative and impactful educational programs that advance the integration of genomics and precision medicine into care at scale. The Head of Program Development coordinates the design, development and delivery of educational programs for the Institute for Genomics Education Workforce & Leadership at Sarah Lawrence College. This role works closely with the Institute's Director of Curriculum to understand the portfolio vision, synergies with existing programs and execute on the overall portfolio strategy and reports to the Institute Director. By applying expertise in educational leadership, this role drives the development of learning experiences that concurrently reflect best practices in genetics and genomic education and that focus on humanism, dignity, equity and belonging. The ideal candidate has expertise in genetics and genomics, designing and delivering educational interventions, and working with remote teams; great organizational skills; and comfort communicating with and coordinating the activities of various stakeholders. The right candidate will also have experience and/or training in project management, learning management systems (LMS), curriculum design and cultural competency.
For this position we are considering remote candidates, but candidates residing in the NY metropolitan area or any of the following states will be given preference: MN, MA, PA.
Essential Duties Summary
Duties include:
Build coherent and comprehensive educational programs that are aligned to learning objectives and assessments, tailored to specific learner groups, and reflective of the evolving strategic priorities and foundational values of the Institute:

Identify opportunities to utilize existing curricula to drive institutional goals and program growth
Develop assessments centered on learner performance to measure the effectiveness and impact of genetics and genomics education programs for varied target audiences
Analyze data from existing educational resources, user feedback, and outcomes to refine educational programs
Manage the input and collaboration of employee (e.g. staff faculty, IT support etc.) and non-employee contributors (subject matter experts and curriculum designers) within the scope of program development to pre-determined timelines
Lead team meetings
Create project plans with deliverables and key performance indicators
Measure progress
Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
Maintain competence in best practices for education design, instructional strategies, and educational technologies; meet and exceed applicable educational standards, objectives, and benchmarks
Depending on experience, additional responsibilities could include items such as:
Track program-specific spending against budgets
Generate and organize agreement forms/contracts for instructors, subject matter experts and consultants (e.g. curriculum designers, graphic designers, etc.)
Manage data from learning management system for analysis and reporting
Collate student survey data for instructors and Institute personnel

All candidates for this position will have a bachelor’s degree; a Master’s degree in Genetic Counseling and/or Education is strongly preferred
Mastery of Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook

Exceptional eye for detail, creative problem-solving, follow-up skills, and organization
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proactive communication style
Strong work ethic and the high EQ required to collaborate effectively with a range of colleagues/stakeholder/learners, including people from all backgrounds and identity groups
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with project management tools, Canvas LMS and Prophix
