Description:
Aquila's Group Fitness Instructor and as needed Fitness Specialist assists members in safe and effective exercise and performs a wide range of technical exercise and administrative duties in health/fitness center. You will teach regular group exercise classes as part of your work, and then as needed for fitness floor/training hours. The pay rate for this position is $22.36/hour for fitness floor hours and $55/hour for any speciality group fitness class taught such as yoga or Pilates.

Responsibilities include:
Teach group fitness classes
Supervise exercise areas
Educate members concerning safe exercise techniques
Perform exercise assessments and prescribe exercise upon American College of Sports Medicine guidelines
Conduct safe and effective assessments including cardiovascular, strength, flexibility and body composition analysis; evaluate and interpret data and identify high risk participants and special populations
Aid members - spotting and equipment usage
Explain all equipment
Ensure the maintenance, cleanliness and safety of all equipment
Adhere to departmental and club policies and procedures
Adhere to client’s policies and procedures
Attend staff meetings
Assist in wellness and fitness promotions and external events
Perform administrative duties
Qualifications:
Due to the federal agency security clearance required at this location, candidates must be a U.S. Citizen to qualify for this position
B.S. in Exercise Physiology or in related health/fitness field, and/or
Active NCCA accredited fitness certification (ACE, AFAA, NASM, NFPT, NCSF, NCCPT - CPT, ACSM or NSCA), or
Active Aquila approved fitness instructor certification
Active CPR certification
0-1 year experience in supervising adults during exercises
