    Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and driven Project Engineer with great communication skills to join our Team. Project Engineer will assist the Project Manager and Superintendents in executing complex heavy civil and structures projects on budget and on schedule. This position will work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Estimators, the accounting department, clients, subcontractors, and vendors.

    Time will be spent in the office and on project sites. You will be responsible for project coordination, reports, scheduling, pricing, purchasing and/or procurement of construction materials, equipment, job supplies, and permanent project materials. You will collaborate closely with the Project Manager to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.

    Responsibilities:

    • Work directly with Project Manager and Superintendent to manage all phases of heavy civil or heavy highway projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution.
    • Ensure compliance with all project plans, specifications, safety regulations, quality standards, and contractual requirements.
    • Work directly with Superintendent and Project Manager to assemble four-week look ahead schedules.
    • Manage the timely execution of the Project in correspondence with the Primavera P6 CPM schedule.
    • Review job cost budget forecasts and communicate budgets to Superintendents.
    • Develop work and safety plans for various heavy civil operations.
    • Oversee field operations on the project site.
    • Submit and track all project related transmittals and submittals.
    • Submit and track all project related correspondence.
    • Work with Project Manager to forecast projects cost and revenue every month.
    • Work with Project Manager and client to develop payment applications every month.
    • Schedule survey and inspections for field operations.
    • Update and maintain as-Built drawings if required.
    • Tracking quantities to ensure accurate payment by the client.
    • Managing Blue Stakes.
    • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, quality standards, and contractual requirements.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year College, technical school or university in Engineering or Construction Management
  • A minimum of 2 years of project engineer or field engineer experience with a heavy civil construction company.
  • A minimum of 2 years of project engineer or field engineer experience with structural concrete projects.
  • A minimum of 2 years of project engineer experience with RFIs, change orders, submittals, tracking quantities, etc.
  • Knowledge of field concepts, practices, procedures pertaining to heavy civil and structures construction.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships, communicates effectively at all levels of the organization, and lead through influence – with the purpose of driving change and delivering positive outcomes
