Job description




Main Purpose



Distillation tech oversee multiple distillation processes, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and environmental regulations. By monitoring process parameters and conducting tests. A distillation tech maintains product quality and optimize equipment operation for efficiency. Additionally, participate in plant safety programs, maintain production logs, and collaborate with lab analysis for continuous improvement.



The role




Key job responsibilities



  • Oversee the operation of multiple distillation processes and functions.

  • Participate in the plant safety programs including but not limited to i.e., Lock Out, Tag Out program, safety and environmental rules and regulations

  • Monitor and control process parameters to achieve desired product specifications by analyzing system controls, log sheet and lab reports

  • Perform tests throughout stages of production to determine process variables including Gas Chromatography, moisture, non-volatile residue, color, and any testing performed on both pre-feed products and finished product

  • Determine and develop the most effective operation of equipment by maximizing efficiencies, yields, and minimizing waste

  • Take product samples at various stages for lab analysis

  • Complete production logs and reports reflecting production levels, maintenance requirements and related information

  • Participate in the plant safety programs including but not limited to i.e., Lock Out, Tag Out program, safety and environmental rules and regulations




The person




Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in a science field is preferred or equivalent experience.

  • Two years of experience working in a similar environment or industry is desirable

  • Successful completion of Hazwoper training

  • Strong computer skills; ability to read, understand, and apply common operational documents, SOP's

  • Ability to work independently with little to minimal supervision and must extremely detail orientated.

  • The ability to pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check, are required.
