Job Description:

H2M Architects + Engineers, a multidiscipline architectural, engineering, environmental consulting firm with offices in NY and NJ seeks a Project Controls Engineer / Analyst to develop, coordinate and maintain financial, invoice, budget, resource, procurement, risk and other data within databases and query tools for individual projects.

Job Responsibilities:


  • Provide technical/analytical, billing/invoicing, administrative and functional support in the area of project management, project controls, and document management processes for energy and power projects.
  • Develop, coordinate and maintain status reporting for the financial aspects of projects within the overall Program.
  • Implement standard cost, billing/invoicing, processes and practices to ensure Design and Construction projects are performed in accordance with approved budgets and schedules.
  • Maintain cost control procedures, prepare project cost reports and budgets and cash flow forecasts.
  • Coordinate with project management, design teams and contractors.
  • Provide strategic advice to team members on project delivery.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction, or Business discipline or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years Project Controls experience, Cost Engineering and ERP systems.
  • Experience with Project Management Document management software tool applications experience (ECM, File Net, SharePoint, e-Builder, etc.) a plus.
  • Self-starter capable of seeking out project related information from Project Stakeholders.
  • Well organized, flexible in a changing environment and capable of working independently and with the team.
  • Capable of managing and organizing large amounts of data and developing ad hoc reporting.
  • Demonstrated client management, communication and organization skills.
  • Ability to think strategically, plan and problem solve.
  • Ability to write complex business documents, such as reports, papers, detailed letters and emails.
  • Attention to detail and quality.
  • Experience in Utility Operations; Compliance with FEMA funded projects a plus.
  • Experience with Enterprise Portfolio Scheduling Software tools a plus (Microsoft Project, Primavera P6 or equivalent).
  • PMI/PMP credentials a plus.
  • Previous utility industry experience a plus.
  • Valid drivers' license required.

The salary range for this role is $80,000 - $100,000 annually.
