Since 1975 Metropolitan Organization to Counter Sexual Assault (MOCSA) has been an essential part of the Kansas City metro. Our mission is to improve the lives of those impacted by sexual abuse and assault, and to prevent sexual violence in our community. MOCSA is seeking an organized, reliable, and welcoming human resources professional who will assist us in fulfilling the needs of our community while working to provide a supportive, inclusive, and engaging employment experience. This position works 30 hours per week (.8FTE) in a hybrid work environment and is eligible for full-time benefits.

SUMMARY
This position is responsible for human resources support with a primary focus on recruitment and employee engagement.

JOB OBJECTIVES

Recruitment

Administers and participates in internal recruitment processes: job requisitions, job postings, candidate selection and interviewing, reference checks, background checks, offer letters, and record keeping.
Works closely with hiring managers to support them through the hiring process.
Develop and implement strategies to source qualified candidates from different backgrounds and identities to meet requirements for positions from internal, external, and/or referral candidate pools.
Identify and cultivate sourcing strategies through utilization of social media, job boards, university relationships, outreach events, and professional organizations.
Integrate federal, state, and local employment laws, inclusion, diversity, equity, accessibility (IDEA), strategic plan, and hiring goals into recruitment processes.
Provide internal training and support for hiring managers and colleagues related to recruitment and retention strategies.

Staff Engagement

Develop, implement, and support staff engagement strategies such as employee appreciation, recognition, and inclusion programs and activities.
Oversee human resources supplies and inventory.
Assist with administration and collection of staff feedback via surveys, exit interviews, focus groups, and stay interviews.
Research, design, and administer MOCSA's mentorship programs.
Assist with internal communication in support of staff engagement strategies, such as benefits guides, staff highlights, and promotion of internal programs and activities.
Provide administrative support and serve as a backup human resources generalist in the absence of the Vice President of Human Resources and/or Payroll Specialist.

The responsibilities described represent the primary responsibilities of the job. Other responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor as warranted by business needs. The incumbent is expected to do all assigned responsibilities. Grant funds may only be used for the provision of approved activities.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in human resources, business or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. One year of experience in recruitment, as a human resources generalist, and/or in community outreach. Knowledge of recruitment strategies and human resources principles. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications
Three or more years' experience in human resources. Experience using an applicant tracking system (ATS) and/or human resources information system (HRIS). Experience in a nonprofit, healthcare, or educational setting. SHRM or HCRI certification. Bilingual Spanish.

Physical Demands
Work is typically performed in an office environment. While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit, walk and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to finger, handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK HOURS
This position works 30 hours per week; business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Schedule will be determined at the time of hire. Hybrid remote/office work is available. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

TRAVEL
Occasional travel throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area.

BENEFITS
Full time benefits include 15 days of vacation, 15 paid holidays, 12 sick days, birthday holiday, winter break, 89% employer covered health insurance, 100% employer paid dental, life, and long-term disability insurance, EAP, and 2% 403(b) match. The salary for this position is $44,000 - $57,000 depending on experience, credentials, and education. The upper portion of the salary range is typically reserved for existing employees, and/or those with advanced credentials and experience.
