ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Investigate repair requests to fully understand repairs.
Communicate with Dealers and customers to gather all pertinent information necessary to make a decision regarding repairs.
Develop repair instructions for field repair of all Manitowoc Crane products.
Work with Structural Engineer to continually improve the overall process and documentation of the system.
Maintain repair documentation - provide data to CraneCare service for filing in crane history files.
Manage EnCore partner Welder Qualifications.
Ability to sell others on an idea; good balance of aggressive solutions and a sense of maintaining safety for the product and product users.
Other duties assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS
Bachelor’s degree in engineering with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in Structural Engineering required. Will consider Weld Technician candidates with at least 4 years’ experience in this field.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, excellent personal management and organizational skills
Experience in the crane industry or heavy equipment preferred.
Weld must pass D1.1 SMAW welder test in 3G and 4G positions.
Knowledge of welding methods and techniques, equipment, set up and operation.
Ability to read and interpret routine welding and fabrication drawings; use and interpret measuring devices such as rule, scale, square, protractor; ability to use and understand fractional, decimal and metric measuring methods.
Able to work at different times of the day may be required.
Travel requirements up to 25%: May involve travel to the customer site to oversee the repair or inspection.
