TK Elevator is currently seeking an experienced Area Safety Manager supporting the South area.

Advise and assist designated locations on safety practices and principles to eliminate injuries, improve safety performance, and to ensure compliance and understanding of safety policies.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:


  • Serves as a technical leader in the realm of workplace safety, in support of leadership and all employees

  • Conduct audits to ensure compliance with company, federal/state, and local safety standards

  • Provide safety direction and advisement to management

  • Develop, administer, implement, and maintain safety programs and polices

  • Coordinate accident prevention initiatives

  • Ensure consistency with safety training and documentation

  • Provide employee training using multiple delivery methods and media

  • Ability to lead and influence others

  • Produce reports and courses of actions based on findings

  • Conduct accident/incident investigations to determine root cause

  • Assist Worker's Compensation with accident reporting

  • Shape positive and proactive safety culture

  • Participate in daily, weekly and monthly meetings

  • Employ theories of behavior-based safety

  • Ability to use Microsoft Office products and other software applications effectively

  • Performs other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • 4-year degree from an accredited post-secondary institution within an EHS discipline or equivalent. Industry or military experience may substitute.

  • 4+ years of experience working as a safety professional; preferable for a general contractor or in an equivalent role for a major subcontractor.

  • 1+ year(s) managing or leading people or teams

  • 1+ year(s) experience in behavior-based safety

  • Demonstrated knowledge of regulatory standards (OSHA, ANSI, EPA, etc.)

  • Strong verbal and written communication

  • OSHA 500-hour certification and qualified trainer status

  • Excellent time management attention to detail.

  • Professional safety certification (ASP, CSP, CHST, etc.)

  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions
