Our Corporate office in Portsmouth, NH is currently looking for an experienced Tax Manager. This position will report directly to the Senior Manager of Technical Accounting, but the Tax Manager will be responsible for overseeing all tax functions. The ideal candidate must lead a tax department of two people and be comfortable with being the most experienced tax member at the corporate office. This individual must also have experience working with large corporations with a complex legal structure. This candidate will interact and work closely with all levels and functions within the organization including the leadership team, accounting, finance and legal.







Essential Duties & Responsibilities





* Preparation/ review of federal and state corporate income/franchise tax returns with outside tax advisors including consolidated/unitary filings.

* Minimal preparation/ review of federal and state partnerships.

* Experience in reviewing international forms 5471, 8858, and 8975.

* Extensive knowledge related to 163(j) interest limitation calculations.

* Preparation/review of various property tax payments and filings

* Document and implement tax policies and procedures surrounding sales and use, property and income tax filings

* Preparation of quarterly estimates and year end extensions

* Preparation of ASC 740 quarterly and annual tax provision, effective tax rates, uncertain tax positions, book to tax adjustments and reconciliations of payable and deferred tax accounts

* Maintain organizational tax calendar and obligations matrix

* Audit support and responses (including federal, state and external financial statement)

* Develop and respond to requests by tax authorities, independent audit firm or internal departments

* Maintain fixed asset system as it relates to tax depreciation calculations

* Tax research and documentation on company positions, accounting pronouncements and tax law guidance

* Special projects as assigned



Qualifications & Experience





* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field

* CPA Certification required

* Mix of public accounting and corporate environment preferred

* Solid knowledge of ASC 740 tax accounting

* Proficient in corporate and multi-state taxation

* Excellent written and verbal communications skills

* Well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle a fast-paced work environment

* Ability to work independently and prioritize duties in order to meet strict deadlines

* Proficient with excel including pivot tables, VLookup functions etc.
