Job Summary:

The Shipping Clerk will be responsible for the loading and unloading materials and deliveries and move them to storage areas, machines and loading area.

Job Duties:
Operate large forklifts inside and outside shopLoad and unload materials up to 40 in length constantly (certain occasions up to 50) and merchandise from incoming vehicles and stack them in assigned placesLocate and move stock of products to pallets for storage or shipmentCrib and stack products appropriately to avoid damage to productsIdentify damages and report shortages or quality deficienciesTransport raw material to production workstationsInspect machinery to determine the need for repairs and guarantee safety by performing regular maintenanceCheck off parts and pieces to match shipping and receiving documentationKeep updated records of inventory and activity logsComply with company policies and legal guidelinesFollow all safety guidelinesHelp maintain a safe and orderly environment of the facilitiesThe above list of duties is not to be construed as an exhaustive list. Qualifications:
Proven experience as forklift operator
Must follow safety rules, regulations, and safe job procedures
Complete company trainingAttention to detail and familiarity with industrial equipmentExcellent physical condition and coordinationValid certification to operate forkliftsHigh school diploma or GED

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts consistent with a fabrication shop environment. The employee is occasionally exposed to changing weather conditions and working at moderate heights. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
