We are seeking a full-time Senior Aviation Field Engineer at our customer site in Vero Beach, FL. In this role, you will be responsible for leveraging advanced avionics knowledge to provide on-site engineering support to amicably assure the successful definition, integration, operation, and certification of complex Garmin avionics in customer airplanes. In addition, you will work directly with the customer to perform expert level troubleshooting, ground and flight testing, and generation of customer specific engineering communications.
Essential Functions
Provides onsite developmental support for Garmin avionics systems, including providing support outside of normal business hours
Acts as a subject matter expert for one or more test tools
Generates customer specific engineering communications such as ECMs or OEM notification documents
Performs troubleshooting of highly advanced avionics issues on an integration rig or aircraft
Leads generation of aircraft interconnect documentation
Provides leadership and leverages knowledge to assist in customer ground and flight test efforts, including collection of aircraft data during testing
Leverages expert level knowledge of integration test benches and provides leadership to customers on conducting testing
Works closely with Garmin engineers and customers to coordinate issues and resolve complex problems
Provides technical information to customers and access to Garmin technical documents
Provides reliable solutions to a wide range of difficult problems using sound problem solving techniques

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Math or Physics AND a minimum of 5 years relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)
Demonstrates proficient skill in conducting in-depth system testing and troubleshooting through detailed knowledge of the system and use of available test tools
Demonstrates expert level troubleshooting skills on all avionics issues
Demonstrates proficient working knowledge of all aircraft systems, their avionics interfaces, and aircraft data acquisition methods
Possesses strong working knowledge of aircraft configuration settings and their implementation
Demonstrates advanced proficiency using Microsoft Office, including proficiency using AutoCAD or MS Visio
Possesses detailed working knowledge of all Garmin aviation products
Produces work with a high degree of quality that requires little to no oversight or review
Exhibits a high-level of organization, structure, and autonomy in all field engineering activities
Demonstrates strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude, work well with others, and is a driven problem solver with proven success in solving difficult problems
Possesses broad technical knowledge and skills in one or more areas of avionics systems and product development
Demonstrates proficient knowledge of Garmin and departmental processes and procedures
