TransCore (TRN), a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking a full-time SQL Developer II to join the Deployment & Support Team for the Infinity product, our flagship toll collection system in Ashburn, Virginia.
Job Summary: The Level II Software Engineer (SQL Developer) will be responsible for development, deploying and the ongoing support of database-related functions for our Infinity solution at numerous customer installations throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. This position will involve ensuring the system/database is configured and deployed properly with the correct parameters and code, will develop and optimize stored procedures, and will analyze the flow of the data throughout the system to validate it is functioning properly. In addition, this position will develop custom reports using SSRS as well as utilizing XML to exchanging data within the database.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Experience developing and optimizing very complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions
Experience in supporting high volume SQL Server databases in high availability and distributed environments
Experience with designing and developing reports using SSRS and Report Designer
Experience with using XML files within the SQL Server database
Perform tuning and monitoring for both database and operating systems
Troubleshoot and resolve database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, replication issues, connectivity issues, and security issues
Create required database indexes, index management, and maintain statistics
Analyze Transaction Data Reports and reconcile data differences
Familiarity using the .NET framework (C#, WCF, ADO.NET)
Author technical design specs along with populating the Infinity configuration workbook to ensure the functional requirements are captured and the system fulfills the customer's expectations
Perform database migration tasks to migrate data from the source to destination databases successfully
Support Production, Development and QA Environments
Required Qualifications:
3-7 years of professional experience in SQL development with creating and maintaining complex SQL queries, stored procedures and functions. Latest experience should have been with using SQL Server 2016 through SQL Server 2019.
3-7 years of professional experience using SQL Server tools such as SSMS, SSCM, DMVs and system stored procedures
3-7 years of professional experience with performance tuning and optimization using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
3-7 years of professional experience supporting high volume SQL Server databases in high availability and distributed environments.
Ability to design and develop reports using SSRS and Report Designer
Ability to develop software using the .NET framework (C#, WCF, ADO.NET)

Ability to understand business requirements and estimate for delivery commitments
Excellent verbal, phone, and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
3-7 years of in-depth experience working with the Infinity databases developing SQL procedures
Familiarity with deploying SQL Server databases in virtual environments such as Hyper-V
Familiarity with installing and maintaining SQL Server databases on Windows Cluster Environments
Familiarity with implementing DR processes using Mirroring, Always On and other replication techniques
Familiarity with System Administration for Windows Server 2016 through Windows Server 2022
Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution or equivalent combination of education.
