JOB LOCATION:Des Moines Y Camp - Boone, Iowa
HOURS/DAYS SCHEDULE:Schedule Varies
PAY RANGE:$44,000-$51,000/annually and the option of residence/house at Camp

POSITION SUMMARY:
Oversees assigned areas at the Des Moines YMCA Camp, which may include staff supervision, program development, marketing, community relations, financial development, contract negotiation, maintenance of programs, hiring, training and supervision of staff for School Programs and Group and Partner Camps. Participates in volunteer and staff development, collaborations with community agencies and facility management.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Develop and manage high-quality group, school, education and guest engagement strategies and programs which support camp and Association goals and strategies. Recruit, hire, train, develop and direct seasonal employees and volunteers for Group Camps, School Programs, Educational Programs and Partner Camp. Develop, manage and monitor assigned operating budgets to meet and exceed targets. Establish plans for the expansion of programs and services in harmony with overall YMCA objectives and the full-time staff team at camp. Manage the operations of Education and Group Camps at the Des Moines Y Camp, which include Contracted Groups & Retreats, School Programs, Outdoor Education, Summer Partner Camps and Guest Services. Maintain positive and constructive relationship with groups and schools nurturing long-term, strong partnerships to ensure health of both group camping and school programing departments. Coordinate group and school programs to align with associated curriculum standards. Represent and promote the YMCA in the local community and develops positive working relationships with other organizations, businesses and government entities. Ensure that camp programming sustainably embraces the value of diversity, inclusion and globalization. Provide staff support for assigned committees and leadership for projects and campaigns. Serve as a member of the YMCA management and support the overall objectives of the YMCA. Manage and maintain program equipment and facilities for corresponding programs to ensure high-quality, well-organized supplies. Provide security and on-site assistance after hours by living in camp provided housing. Perform other duties as assigned.
