Responsibilities

What you'll be challenged to do:

Assist Senior Inspector with inspection and documentation of work performed by construction contractors to verify conformance or non-conformance with related contract documents, plans and specifications.  Responsible for performing technical assignments in field surveying and construction layout, making, and checking engineering computations, inspecting construction work, and conducting field tests in all phases of construction by assisting the Senior Inspectors.

 

General Duties and Responsibilities: 


  • Ability to:  Communicate effectively in English (verbally and in writing)

  • Responsible for:  Receiving general supervision from and assisting the Senior Inspector in the performance of their duties.

  • Inspect, document and verify work performed by the construction contractor for compliance or non-compliance with contract documents, plans and specifications.

  • Work closely with the contractor to resolve any issues in the field or elevate issue to the Senior Inspectors.

  • Measure and test work performed by the construction contractor for compliance or non-compliance with contract documents, plans and specifications.

  • Utilize basic engineering survey practices to verify alignment and elevations.

  • Documentation of construction materials received and verified.


  • Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.

Qualifications

What you bring to our firm:


  • High School Diploma or Certificate of High School Equivalency. 

  • CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level I

  • CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level I

  • CTQP Pile Driving Inspection

  • CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection (required for inspection of all drilled shafts including miscellaneous structures such as sign structures, lighting structures, and traffic signal structures)

  • IMSA Traffic Signal Inspector Level I

  • CTQP Final Estimates Level I

  • FDOT Intermediate or Advanced Maintenance of Traffic

  • Nuclear Radiation Safety

  • Florida Stormwater, Erosion and Sedimentation Control Training and Certification Program for Inspectors and Contractors.

  • CTQP Concrete Field Technician Level I

  • For personnel with Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Management degrees:


  1. The ability to earn the required qualifications and certifications within one year. (Note: Engineer Intern classification requires an EI certificate.)


  • For personnel without Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Management degrees


  1. Two (2) years of experience in construction inspection.

  2. One (1) years of which shall have been in bridge and/or roadway construction.
