Role description:

Arcadis is currently seeking a highly motivated self-driven Project Engineer-Intern to join the Power Delivery team in USA.

This is a technical internship role within the Power Delivery unit of Arcadis. The position assists in the coordination of the power delivery transmission, distribution, substation, and renewable energy team and performs hands on engineering, detail design, studies, technical project/proposal assistance and coordination for utility clients in North America. The incumbent will also work closely with the transmission, distribution, substation project engineering teams within the Power Delivery group. As part of the Power Delivery team, you will help improve quality of life.

Role accountabilities:


  • Support, develop, and deliver all power delivery discipline projects from 4kV up to 500kV with quality, schedule, and safe design in mind.
  • Work with Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Lead Engineers in projects to ensure all projects are on-target, in-compliance with client standard and design scope, on-budget, on schedule, with highest quality deliverables, and support construction as needed.
  • Review and perform engineering and detail design drawings, studies and analysis, plan and profile documents, prepare bidding documents and specifications, bills of materials, shop drawing review, procurement and construction documents
  • Support and work with project planning, environmental, permitting, construction management, and close out
  • Responsible for QA on client reports and deliverables
  • Maintain close coordination and help other relevant Arcadis Business Units and Practices for engineering, design, project engineering and project management support.

The ideal candidate should demonstrate proficiency in MS Office and possess a solid understanding of AutoCAD. They must be adept at coordinating projects in collaboration with the project engineer, project manager, and project lead. Additionally, the ability to provide support during site visits and client meetings when necessary is essential for success in this role.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications


  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural or Electrical engineering from an accredited college or university
  • 0-1 year of experience with electric or civil discipline in utility industry

Preferred Qualifications

  • Have knowledge of applicable NESC, NEC, ASCE and other applicable standards in engineering and design
