Job Description:

Summary: The Entry Level IT Support Specialist position with Anchor Construction Corporation offers an opportunity for training, to earn certificates, and to grow in the department. Anchor is looking for a person who is professional and passionate about technology. This role is in Lanham, Maryland, and reports to the IT Manager. The Anchor IT Support Specialist is someone who enjoys working in a team environment, has interpersonal skills, is a problem solver, and communicates effectively.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Troubleshoot and solve common issues with:

    • Computers
    • Mobile devices
    • Printers
    • Applications
  • Maintain documentation for processes and procedures.
  • Maintain inventory and other spreadsheets/databases.
  • Taking and prioritizing telephone, email, and helpdesk inquiries as well as determine when to escalate to upper level IT.
  • This position requires traveling to troubleshoot and provide support at multiple offices and field locations, including construction sites.
  • This position requires lifting heavy items such as printers.
  • This position requires help with pulling wiring for phone/data and security cameras. (or general labor)
  • This position requires the ability to work in high places (such as a ladder or lift).
  • Provide basic network troubleshooting and support.
  • Assist with software deployment and updates, ensuring all systems are up to date with the latest patches and security measures.
  • Assist in Onboarding and Off-Boarding former employee data, ensuring integrity and availability of data to key stakeholders.
  • Conduct training sessions for employees on basic IT procedures, such as password management, Teams meetings, work email setup, and software usage.
  • Assist in promoting and enforcing IT security policies and procedures to prevent cybersecurity threats, including phishing attacks and malware infections.
  • Assist in maximizing the participation rate for monthly Cybersecurity Awareness Training.
  • Create and maintain a comprehensive knowledge base of common IT issues and solutions to facilitate self-service troubleshooting for end-users.
  • Provide assistance to IT Department on all projects, such as system upgrades, migrations, or new implementations.
  • Offer remote support to offsite employees or satellite offices using remote access tools and techniques.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in IT support through continuous learning and professional development activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum Associates Degree or equivalent.
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
  • Minimum 1-2 years IT help desk experience.
  • Fluent in both English and Spanish
  • Possess a valid driver's license.
  • Experience with iOS operating systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with Windows operating systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Construction background preferred but not required.

  • General office environment infrequently exposed to extreme atmospheric conditions (temperature, noise, fumes, dust, etc.)
