Demand Analyst at TDK-Lambda Americas Inc

Job Description:

As a Demand Analyst, you are responsible for monitoring and managing inventory levels while meeting product lead time objectives and financial goals. This role uses knowledge and experience to identify the appropriate planning methods to apply, based on a combination of statistical analysis and best practices; develops reports and dashboards that allow for quick and accurate time phased inventory projections and order adjustments; and is responsible for day-to-day management of planning and ordering settings in the business ERP system.  


 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.



  • Manages finished goods inventory levels and open purchase orders to ensure shipments meet lead time targets and stock levels are within planned ranges.

  • Identifies stock outages and suggests actions to improve order fulfillment rates.

  • Reviews items that require expedite activities to determine potential mitigating activities.

  • Analyzes historic demand patterns using statistical analysis; combines with Sales input and order fulfillment goals to create factory forecasts.

  • Selects and executes stocking/ordering plans and parameters using different planning models.

  • Maintains system lead times and ordering settings in the company ERP item master.

  • Provides time phased inventory projection reports to management.

  • Tracks requests for manual purchases outside of the company ERP planning process, works with Sales to match incoming orders to the advance purchases.

  • Maintains a list of safety stock and advance buys that are protected for specific customers.

  • Develops and implements process improvements.

  • Performs other tasks as assigned.

  • Infrequent domestic and international travel may be required.


 


QUALIFICATIONS FOR A DEMAND ANALYST



  • High school diploma or equivalent, combined with 10 years of related experience; or Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management or similarly focused major with 5 years of related experience.

  • Advanced computer skills including Windows, Internet Browsers, MS Outlook (or other email), and the aptitude to learn new software programs quickly.

  • Understanding of ERP systems, supply and demand, and material flow from factory to customer.

  • Understanding of logistics with regards to shipping of product.

  • Understanding of fundamental supply chain concepts: procurement/purchasing, material planning, forecasting and replenishment, inventory management, distribution.

  • Strong administrative and organizational skills - attention to detail is a must.

  • Successful multi-tasking/priority management skills. Work well under pressure while juggling many responsibilities and meeting stringent deadlines.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication (listening, written & verbal) skills.

  • Positive attitude.

  • Ability to be assertive when appropriate.

  • Effective problem-solving skills and

  • Flexibility and openness to new ideas and change.

  • Superior stress management skills, ability to handle difficult/stressful situations while maintaining professional composure and judgment.

  • Self-motivated with excellent organization skills and ability to multi-task.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent analytical skills.


  • Professional certifications in APICS or other supply chain related education programs is desired.




 


SALARY RANGE


The starting annual base pay for the role is between USD $67,000 and $95,000. The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. The role may also be eligible for variable bonus programs and benefits.
